Ferrari Yearbook
Preview — Mar 13, 2026Pentagram Partner Domenic Lippa has designed a typographic cover for the car manufacturer‘s 2025 Yearbook.
Published in the traditional large format with a hard cover and special papers, The Ferrari Yearbook 2025 retraces the most significant moments of an eventful season for the Italian car manufacturer. The latest in a line of yearbooks dating back to 1949, the new publication celebrates Maranello’s defining moments from the previous 12 months.
Pentagram was asked to create a cover for the 2025 Yearbook that was bold and impactful, but continued the legacy of the previous Yearbook designs. Partner Domenic Lippa, who worked with Associate Anthony Morgan on the project, explains: “Our task was relatively simple: to capture what Ferrari means on the cover”.
The design team started to look at the interplay of letterforms, focusing on the repeating letter ‘R’, meaning that when you deconstruct the word, you can still read it, and that it doesn’t always need to sit on a single line. That allowed for the name to be larger, making it more impactful within the space.
The finished design is sophisticated and understated. Its three descending rows of interlocking letters help create a sense of tension and movement, and the different shades of red alongside the shadow create impact. On the rear cover the graphic is reversed, echoing the glimpse of a Ferrari approaching, then watching it drive away in the rear-view mirror. Subtle contrasts between matt and gloss reinforce the hierarchy and rhythm of the lettering, while the famous Ferrari Prancing Horse appears in a restrained, jewel-like silver.
More than 75 years after the first annual publication, the new edition stands as a confident and contemporary addition to the Ferrari Yearbook canon. Read more about designing the 2025 cover here.
