Paula Scher Honored at Florence Biennale

The Pentagram partner is recognized with the Leonardo da Vinci Lifetime Achievement Award for Design.

Pentagram's Paula Scher will be recognized for her extraordinary career with the Leonardo da Vinci Lifetime Achievement Award for Design at the XII Florence Biennale, 18 - 27 October. The award will be presented as part of the Design Exhibition of the Biennale, which showcases works by contemporary artists and designers from around the world, this year with the theme “ARS ET INGENIUM: Toward Leonardo da Vince's Legacy of Similitude and Invention.” Scher will be honored alongside fellow Lifetime Achievement Award recipients Elsa Peretti, the Tiffany & Co. jewelry designer, and Italian fashion designers Wanda and Salvatore Ferragamo (in memoriam). 

As part of the Biennale, an exhibition of Scher's work will be on view in the Spadolini Pavilion at the Fortezza da Basso through 27 October. She will present a public lecture as part of the awards ceremony on October 26.
