Pentagram

Pentagram Fives

Preview — Apr 06, 2020

Yuri Suzuki and Sascha Lobe have joined forces to create a daily edit of official Pentagram playlists and accompanying visuals to help motivate staff working from home due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The daily curated playlist, called ‘Pentagram Fives’, will feature musical inspirations hand-picked by Yuri according to visual elements initially selected by Sascha.

The playlists include an assortment of music composers, including John Cage, Arvo Pärt, Iannis Xenakis and Cornelius Cardew. The music genres span orchestral, piano, chamber and electroacoustics amongst others.

The complementary visual elements selected by Sascha are based on musical symbols, sound waves, musical notation and composition that are deconstructed, distorted, abstracted and reassembled.

The images are undulating and circuitous geometric forms that meet the pitch, tempo and metre of each musical track.
