Yuri Suzuki Releases ‘Thanet House’ EP on Accidental Records

Preview — Mar 25, 2021

Yuri Suzuki and Astrid Stavro collaborate on Yuri's latest music release.

Yuri Suzuki latest EP Thanet House on Matthew Herbert's Accidental Jnr label, is available now to purchase on Bandcamp.

Yuri worked closely with designer and fellow Pentagram partner Astrid Stavro and her team who created the design and artwork for the EP.

Inspired by the iconic series of LP recordings produced by Twen magazine with the Philips record label between 1961 and 1968, Astrid’s team redrew two slab serif letters found in old wood type catalogues. The resulting bold typographic design perfectly combines the quirkiness of wood type with the bright colours of acid house.

Thanet House was written at Yuri’s studio in Margate during the first UK lockdown and is inspired by the legendary music of Chicago house. All of the tracks were created on analogue hardware, such as the Roland 909, 808, 303 and Juno 106.

To celebrate the release, Yuri will be playing a unique Accidental records mix on Margate Radio on Saturday 27 March at 11pm.
