Brand Identity

Brand identity and website for an independent sports and entertainment consulting agency.

Pentagram has designed the identity for Munich-based startup The Rights Agency, an independent consulting agency serving the sports and entertainment industries.

The Rights Agency gives comprehensive advice and support to both those holding rights (including sports associations, leagues, organisers, clubs and athletes) and those who purchase rights (primarily TV channels, online platforms, sponsors and agencies). It advises on the best possible use and exploitation of their commercial rights, in the areas of media and marketing in particular.

Taking the consultancy’s abbreviation TheRiA, the design team created a typographic mark using Akzidenz Grotesk medium, setting it in both upper and lower case characters. The agency’s full name appears directly above the letter ‘R’ for emphasis.

A simple animated version of the logo was created for the website, along with a mini trailer, with two different sound versions, one with applause and the other set to music. The website was also designed by Pentagram, and works perfectly with the minimalist aesthetic of the mark.
