Pete Davidson stars in the semi-autobiographical, action-comedy series “Bupkis,” playing a heightened fictionalized version of himself. The show is simultaneously grounded and absurd, real and raw, rough and touching—it's funny while also pulling no punches about the odd celebrity fishbowl that has been Davidson’s life so far. Pentagram has designed the opening titles for the show’s first season, streaming exclusively on Peacock.

Each episode has its own unique title sequence inspired by the plot itself and serves as a meta-commentary on the upcoming story. The variety aligns well with where Davidson and his team (led by Executive Producer Judah Miller and Director Jason Orley) wanted to take the show: since its roots are in Pete’s actual life, some of the titles are very personal, which meant striking a balance between sentimental and absurd. Pentagram worked closely with Davidson and his wider team to make sure that each title treatment captured the right feeling for each episode.

The title sequences were treated like they were for individual films to emphasize the episode’s unique storyline; everything from a flashback about growing up in Staten Island, to the “Fast and Furious” movies, 1940s film noir, Davidson’s handwriting, death, and breakdancing.
