The groundbreaking temporary exhibition Lost Worlds held in Doha, Qatar, featured dinosaur remains, meteorites and fossils as well as natural history-related artwork by internationally renowned artists such as James Audubon, Elizabeth Butterworth and William Hart. Curated by the Natural History Museum in London, the curatorial team sought to retain the personality and aura of each individual object, while highlighting the exhibition's extinction theme. The exhibition was designed to work on the same principle by creating a dramatic environment that retained and highlighted the aesthetic beauty of the individual objects, and yet provided the visitor with a cohesive story. As a result, visitors chose how they navigated the exhibition: they either moved between their favorite objects, or followed a linear narrative that ran throughout the five "chapters" of the exhibition.

As the first exhibition of its kind in Qatar, a record number of visitors of all ages and nationalities came to visit the exhibition that was free of charge and specifically designed to appeal to both children and adults.
