Pentagram

Tablet

Brand identity and website design for the digital publication that celebrates Jewish life and culture.

The look and feel of the redesign takes its inspiration from newspapers and temple newsletters traditionally so important to the community.

Navigating via the ‘Scroll’ gives readers the opportunity to browse the section fronts before diving deeper, similar to a multi-sectioned Sunday paper.

The custom-drawn logo shows more swagger with muscular letterforms that have a brash New York City character and soft warmth.

Retrospective: Shakespeare in the Park

In 1954, impresario Joe Papp began a summer tradition of staging free outdoor performances of Shakespeare, inaugurating the Public Theater’s beloved Shakespeare in the Park festival. Pentagram partner Paula Scher, whose relationship with the Public spans four decades, has designed a new identity for the series for thirty consecutive summers. Each campaign is customized to the season’s theme, creating a highly visible graphic vocabulary for outdoor advertising, social media, and on-site signage.
