Daftmill

Brand identity for a Scottish producer of rare whisky.

Pentagram was asked to create an identity that would define Daftmill as a unique brand with genuine provenance, confident enough to rely on the quality of its distillate and the integrity of its production.

The look and feel needed to be understated, straightforward and down to earth, emphasising the authenticity of this high-quality product.

Harry Pearce travelled to Fife to meet the brothers, sample the product and capture a photographic record of the farm and the distillery. This photo-essay proved central to the design development.

Retrospective: Shakespeare in the Park

In 1954, impresario Joe Papp began a summer tradition of staging free outdoor performances of Shakespeare, inaugurating the Public Theater’s beloved Shakespeare in the Park festival. Pentagram partner Paula Scher, whose relationship with the Public spans four decades, has designed a new identity for the series for thirty consecutive summers. Each campaign is customized to the season’s theme, creating a highly visible graphic vocabulary for outdoor advertising, social media, and on-site signage.
