Untapped

A new brand identity for Untapped that conveys its mission to bring real and lasting change to the workplace.

The Untapped brand has people at its heart, and Pentagram’s design team created an expressive brand symbol that embodies this.

The profile shapes are abstractly rendered as 3D plains with dynamic, refracting gradient colour spaces, showing the ‘profile’ with both a layered, faceted depth as well as the relationship between multiple profiles creating communities.

The brand symbol’s oval proportion is abstracted to create a unique ‘profile’ shape. The resulting dimensions naturally frame a portrait photograph, and the shape is used throughout the brand system to frame the people at the centre of the Untapped community.

The Pentagram team translated the core visual language across both website and digital product design. They developed UI components that created brand moments in-product and finessed a seamless motion behaviour for the digital experience.

Retrospective: Saturday Night Live

When a scruffy after-hours comedy show debuted in NBC’s Studio 8H on October 11, 1975, no one could have known that the entertainment world was about to be changed forever. Over the next half century, Saturday Night Live would launch the careers of countless global stars, create indelible catch phrases, and consolidate the reputations of musical acts from Talking Heads to Kendrick Lamar. Since 1994, Pentagram partner Emily Oberman has been the steward of SNL’s graphic image, from the show’s iconic opening titles, to books celebrating its legacy. With each project, she meets the challenge of acknowledging the franchise’s extraordinary legacy while keeping its profile fresh, surprising, and funny.
